Kona Veterinary Service is not an emergency veterinary facility.

Please be aware that there are currently no veterinary emergency clinics on the the Big Island.

During Business Hours

For our currently established patients, we strive to address and accommodate for your unexpected medical concerns. If you think your pet is experiencing an urgent medical issue, please call our clinic to speak with a receptionist. Our staff can then direct you on how best to proceed. Emergency cases are seen or scheduled based on severity of the problem and doctor availability.

After Business Hours

Starting July 25th, 2019 we are proud to partner with an after-hours medical helpline called Guardian Vets.

To access this service, simply call our office (808) 325-6637 after hours and wait to be forwarded. With Guardian Vets, you are able to speak with a licensed veterinary professional at no charge. They will help you triage your pet’s symptoms and advise the best course of action. For critically unstable patients, there is a doctor on call that they can refer to.

We are available for after hours emergencies exclusively for currently established clients seen within the last year of Kona Veterinary Service.

Please be aware that emergency fees apply and many times emergencies can be prevented.
